Event Overview

The Pennsylvania Game Commission, in partnership with Rostraver Sportsmen Club, is hosting a Youth Pheasant Hunt. This event provides young hunters the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a safe, structured environment, with guidance before, during, and after the hunt.

Schedule

8:00 AM Registration, hunter safety session, and trap-range practice

After safety/practice - Guided pheasant hunt

Midday - Return to the clubhouse for lunch

Eligibility

  • Participants must be 12 years or older by October 11, 2025.

  • Completion of the Hunter-Trapper Education Course is required.

  • Ages 12–13 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or adult 18+.

  • Registration is limited to 30 participants.

Registration & Deadline

  • Register online: Youth Pheasant Hunt Registration

  • Registration deadline: Monday, September 22nd 8:00 am.

  • Seats remaining: Limited – register early.

  • Cancellation deadline: October 4, 2025, at 8:00 AM CDT.

  • Important: Even if you are unable to hunt on October 11th, please still register if you can hunt at any point during the following week. Doing so ensures that pheasants are allocated for your hunt, and the club will receive the birds for you to use. Contact Dan Saffer if you registered but are not able to hunt on October 11th.

Chukar Challenge – January 25, 2026

The Rostraver Sportsmen Club & Conservation Association will host a Chukar Challenge on Sunday, January 25, 2026 , at the club grounds located at 559 Cedar Creek Road, Rostraver, PA 15012 . This event features competitive field trials for both pointing and flushing dogs, including dedicated puppy divisions for dogs 18 months or younger . Each run consists of 3 birds in a 15-minute field , with ribbons awarded to the top three finishers in each division . PUBLIC RANGE DAY – November 15, 2025   Rostraver Sportsmen Club & Conservation Association We’re opening our 100 yard range to the public! Join us on  Saturday, November 15th, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM  for a chance to enjoy an hour of supervised range time.   Donation:  $5 per person (covers one hour of range use)   Bring Your Own Equipment:  No firearms or ammunition will be provided.   Safety Gear Required:  All shooters and spectators must wear eye and ear protection at all times.   Safety First: All firearms must be unloaded and actions open when not on the firing line.
