With great sadness I must inform the members of the passing of Mike Kovalak. He was a member of the RSCA for 26 years. He was very active with trap as a score keeper. He passed on his experience and knowledge of trap shooting to individuals looking to improve their shooting skills. Mike will be missed greatly. May comfort be upon his family. The Pennsylvania Game Commission is offering a Hunter-Trapper Education course at Rostraver Sportsmen’s, 559 Cedar Creek Road, Belle Vernon, PA 15012 on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. This class is required by law for all first-time hunters and trappers before purchasing a license and includes a certification exam upon completion. The Rostraver Sportsmen Club & Conservation Association will host a Chukar Challenge on Sunday, January 25, 2026 , at the club grounds located at 559 Cedar Creek Road, Rostraver, PA 15012 . This event features competitive field trials for both pointing and flushing dogs, including dedicated puppy divisions for dogs 18 months or younger . Each run consists of 3 birds in a 15-minute field , with ribbons awarded to the top three finishers in each division . Please be advised, The Rostraver Sportsman Club will be CLOSED for all activities Christmas day. Trap will be open Saturday December 27, 2025 10am till last shooter. Trap will be open Tuesday December 30, 2025 5pm till the last shooter. January 1, 2026 trap will be open for our New Years Day shoot. Trap will open at noon. After several rounds of trap, the machine will be set up to shoot doubles. Bring extra shells and enjoy shooting doubles. There will be typical New Years Day food at the trap club house ( free eats for the trap shooters ). Hot Dogs, Kielbasa and Sauerkraut, Coffee, water and snacks . The fields are closed to ALL vehicle traffic. This takes effect immediately. All vehicles must be parked in the parking lot.   I want to advise all individuals that will be using the club property this coming Saturday and Sunday to use caution. There will be a lot of activity with being the first day of hunting and the UFTA using the South field. All the ranges are open for use, only the Trap range will be closed Saturday. Once again I am requesting all individuals using the club property Saturday and Sunday to use caution when moving around.
